Fort Lewis College

MTC conducted a comprehensive review of Fort Lewis College’s web pages and procedures for electronic distribution of curriculum materials to identify practices that may prevent or limit access by students with sensory, cognitive, or mobility impairments.

Relevant policies, within the scope of the project, were inventoried and assessed to identify deficiencies that might result in discriminatory actions or conduct. MTC determined whether the College’s services, policies, and practices specific to electronic curriculum materials and website access comply with the Department of Justice’s title II regulation, 28 C.F.R. §35.105.

MTC provided accessibility consultation and training to key Fort Lewis College stakeholders, culminating in a final report with recommendations for how to address IT accessibility campus-wide. MTC also outlined strategies for addressing accessibility of third-party IT applications, including learning management systems such as Moodle and other courseware tools, administrative applications such as Banner, and external websites such as Facebook and LinkedIn.
