Arapahoe County, Colorado
Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan
27 Facilities and Parks
MTC completed an ADA Self-evaluation and Transition Plan for the third most populous Colorado county. The County encompasses thirteen cities and has a population of nearly 600,000 people.
The Self-evaluation process evaluated the accessibility of the County’s programs and services. The Transition Plan addressed the accessibility survey of 27 County facilities and parks.
We also provided a Transition Plan for the County’s pedestrian facilities, in the public right-of-way (PROW), after assessing over 1,300 intersections and more than 700 miles of walkways.
MTC and CP&Y later collaborated to provide training on Accessible Pedestrian Facilities in the PROW for the Arapahoe County Road and Bridge Department. The training included accessible PROW design criteria, based on the Proposed Guidelines for Pedestrian Facilities in the Public Right-of-Way (PROWAG).
